Rescued for a Purpose

Scripture Reading:

1 Peter 1:18-19 (NIV)

«For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.»

Reflection:

We were reminded of the profound truth that we have been rescued by God from a life without meaning. This rescue was not achieved through material wealth or human effort but through the precious blood of Jesus Christ. This act of redemption is the foundation of our faith and the beginning of our journey towards fulfilling our God-given destiny.

Key Points:

1. Understanding Our Rescue:

  • Many of us come from backgrounds filled with brokenness and struggles inherited from our ancestors. Yet, through Christ, we have been rescued from this cycle of emptiness and given a new purpose.
  • Reflect on your own life. What are the areas where you have experienced God’s rescue? How has His redemption changed your perspective and direction?

2. The Importance of Building Altars:

  • An altar in biblical terms is a place of sacrifice and encounter with God. The preaching emphasized the need to build spiritual altars in our lives where we can meet with God regularly.
  • Consider setting aside a specific time each day to pray and read the Bible. This can be your personal altar where you seek God’s presence and guidance.

3. Breaking Free from Past Bondages:

  • Breaking free from the spiritual bondages and altars of the past that may still claim influence over our lives. This involves renouncing any past dedications or curses and embracing the freedom Christ offers.
  • Pray and ask God to reveal any areas of your life that are still under the influence of past bondages. Renounce these in the name of Jesus and declare your freedom in Christ.

4. Living Out Our Prophetic Destiny:

  • We were reminded that our prophetic destiny is not something that automatically happens; it requires our active participation and perseverance. God has a plan for each of us, but we must be willing to pursue it diligently.
  • What dreams and visions has God placed in your heart? Write them down and commit to taking steps towards them, trusting that God will guide and empower you.

Action Steps:

  1. Set aside a specific time each day for prayer and Bible reading. This will be your personal altar where you seek God’s presence.
  2. Reflect on your life and identify areas where you have experienced God’s rescue. Thank Him for His redemption and write down your testimony.
  3. Pray and ask God to reveal any past bondages that may still influence your life. Renounce these in the name of Jesus and declare your freedom.
  4. Write down the dreams and visions God has placed in your heart. Commit to taking steps towards them, trusting in God’s guidance and empowerment.

Closing Thought:

Remember, you have been rescued for a purpose. God has a prophetic destiny for your life, and as you build spiritual altars and seek His presence, He will guide you towards fulfilling it. Keep pressing forward, knowing that your life has meaning and significance in God’s grand plan.
