How to Be Unshakeable in the Midst of Life’s Trials

Have you ever felt like your world is falling apart? Maybe you promised yourself you’d be strong, but when the storm hit, you found yourself shaken to the core. Your self-esteem took a hit, your faith wavered, and your family felt the impact. Now, you’re left wondering how to pick up the pieces and start again.

You’re not alone. We all face moments when our strength fails us. But here’s the good news: God knows we aren’t strong on our own. He has a secret weapon for us, and it doesn’t require us to be strong to be unshakeable.

Discovering True Strength

The main point of our preaching is simple yet profound: You don’t need to be strong to be unshakeable. Our human strength is limited, but God’s strength is limitless. There are battles you can’t win on your own, doors you can’t open, and addictions you can’t overcome by sheer willpower. But with God, all things are possible.

In John 11:35, we read the shortest verse in the Bible: «Jesus wept.» This verse shows us that even Jesus, who is God, experienced deep emotions. He wept for His friend Lazarus, showing us that it’s okay to feel and express our emotions. But more importantly, it shows us that Jesus understands our pain and is with us in our struggles.

Why Faith is Essential

Faith is not just an option; it’s a necessity. In these challenging times, faith is what will keep you grounded. Jesus didn’t promise that we wouldn’t face trials. Instead, He promised to be with us through them. Isaiah 43:2 says, «When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.»

God allows us to go through trials not to break us, but to build us. Just like He allowed Daniel to be thrown into the lion’s den and Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to be thrown into the fiery furnace, He allows us to face challenges so that His power can be displayed in our lives. These trials are not a sign of failure but an opportunity for God to show His strength.

Taking Action: How to Build Unshakeable Faith

  1. Acknowledge Your Weakness: Admit that you can’t do it all on your own. This is the first step to allowing God to work in your life.
  2. Seek God’s Strength: Spend time in prayer and reading the Bible. Ask God to give you His strength and guidance.
  3. Change Your Questions: Instead of asking, «Why is this happening to me?» ask, «What can I learn from this?» or «How can I grow through this?»
  4. Stay Connected: Surround yourself with a community of believers who can support and encourage you.
  5. Glorify God in All Circumstances: No matter what you’re going through, make it a point to glorify God. Your trials can become a testimony of His power and faithfulness.

Conclusion: What Will You Do Next?

The point is clear: God wants to be your strength. He wants you to be unshakeable, not because of your own power, but because of His. What will you do this week to rely more on God’s strength and less on your own? Will you take time to pray and seek His guidance? Will you change the way you view your trials and see them as opportunities for God to work in your life?

Remember, without taking this step, you’ll miss out on the incredible things God wants to do through you. Don’t just read this and move on. Take action. Trust God. Let Him be your strength.
