We are given a new opportunity when we start a new position or job, meet a new friend, even with each passing moment including when we make a mistake, fail and fall.
The word of God says in James 1:2-4 «2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
Many of us focus and dwell on our errors we have made more than on what can come out of the process or what we can learn from it. But the bible shows us time and time again that even through our lives, everything the enemy meant for evil, God turns it for our good.
A mistake is being wrong about something due to being misguided or misinformed. Many of us have been misled and misinformed all our lives.
We are a spirit who has a soul and lives in a body. While we live in this body, we must deal with our flesh. Flesh in Greek is “SARX” which means sinful natureAs a Christian, there is a spiritual battle between our flesh/sinful nature and the spirit/God’s desires.
If a child is not guided or informed correctly, that leads to a lifetime of mistakes. A lifetime of being led by our sinful nature and not the desires of God. This leads us away from the path God has for our life.
The entire month we have spoken about how our path determines our physical health. When our ways are pleasing to God, the word says that even our enemy is made to be at peace with us.
It is important to work with the root of our problems instead of the surface of our condition. Only then will we reach a life full of the goodness of God and not fall for what the world has to offer.
The enemy may offer the world and even imitate God in everything. But even with everything he tries to offer while trying to out do God, there is one thing he can never imitate, he can never imitate love.
The love the world offers comes with a condition. If you do this, I will love you. For doing this, I love you. Because of this, I love you. But the love God has was proven through Christ. Unconditional and sacrificial. The biggest thing a person can encounter is the love of God.
Unconditional love is what Jesus Christ did on the cross for you, me, and all of humanity. He had a painful death that affected all his body so that by His wounds we may be healed. Knowing that we will betray Him, He took that crown of thorns. Knowing that we will give our backs to Him, He took all those whips. Knowing that we would lie, He took those nails in His hands. Knowing that we will not follow Him, He took the nail in His feet. Knowing that we will deny Him, He shed His blood for you and me.
THAT IS UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. He accepts us with our mistakes. He accepts us as we are. Not caring for what we have done in the past or even how we will fail Him in the future, His love is greater.
Today, choose to take on this new opportunity and remember His unconditional love.
